Eugene Police estimate that 62 year old Gladys May Hensley was attacked sometime early on June 4th, 1986. Her body was found in her ground floor High Street apartment on June 5th after not having been seen out and about within her senior living complex. She had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
On June 19th, 1986, Janice Marie Dickerson, age 33, was found nude behind a car dealership off of Coburg road. Like Gladys May Hensley, Janice had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
Less than two years later on February 28th, 1988, Geraldine Spencer Toohey was found dead in her Goshen home by a friend who was picking her up to take her to church. The 72 year old woman had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
You’ve probably noticed by now that the cause of death has not been released for any of these victims’ murders. According to a January, 2017, article from the Register Guard, Oregon State Police called Toohey’s death “brutal homicide violence”. It wasn’t until the year 2000 that these three cases were officially linked via DNA. While this mystery remains unsolved, the killer of these three women no longer remains faceless thanks to Parabon Nanolabs. Below are computer generated composites of the murderer based upon his DNA.
If you recognize this man or think you may recall a tip around the time of any of these murders, please contact Eugene Police Department 541-682-5162.
