Larry Stackhouse Jr. was 19 years old the last time his parents saw him. It was a Friday night and Larry was heading to a basketball game at the Christian Brothers Academy in DeWitt, NY, an eastern suburb of Syracuse, NY. Larry has been missing since December 2, 2005. Now that almost 14 years has passed since Larry’s disappearance, his family is still searching for answers.
There never seemed to be that many clues in Larry’s disappearance but there were an abundance of rumors. A young native american student at Corcoran High in Syracuse, NY had told her principal that she heard two people bragging about killing Larry and disposing of his body on the Onondaga Nation Reservation. Without permission, authorities were unable to search the land. It took months until police were able to follow up on the lead. An article on Syracuse.com states that Detective John Nolan says tips continue to come in saying that Onondaga Nation residents killed Larry Stackhouse Jr. or that his body is buried there.
Larry Stackhouse Jr. was 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 170 at the time of his disappearance. He had short black hair and brown eyes. Other distinguishing characteristics are a tattoo on his left arm of his name “Larry” and his left ear was pierced.
